*HOT* Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB $69.99 Shipped - ends 5/24

I was unaware of the wd issues running Raid 0. Seems some have no problems.

I ran some WD AAKS drives in raid 0 for two years straight on several different boards with no issues other than that damn 780i. I didn't know that they pulled the chipset drivers that I was using for corrupting raid arrays until after it happened, you've got to love nForce boards. There are no issues.

Anyways I just got my drive and I'm impressed with it so far. I love the write speeds on these drives. My F1 was impressive in that area and this seems just as if not faster when it comes to writes. Blows it out of the water with read speed though.

how fast are these in raid 0? im thinking about buying a pair to replace my 640 caviar blue... I have a lot of flac music on my main drive so i need the storage

why not just buy one or two for storage and leave the Caviar Blue's...?

These Samsung are made with 500GB platter's vs the old 320GB per platter design in the wd640, amounting to higher data density providing faster speed especially raided.

i bit. porn collection is growing too large, needs its own hdd. at its current rate of growth, i might need to order two of these soon.

You need to be more selective...

You probably don't even WATCH porn anymore... you just collect and download it, thriving on anticipation alone.

Got mine.

Packing was very good, drive wrapped in tripple bubble wrap with large bubbles + the foam snow.

god damnt, how right you are. i mean, i do still watch it, but yea, i just keep collecting. but i download a large batch around 50GB or 100GB and then I go through all of it and delete what sucks and keep whats good. Usually end up keeping less than 25% of what I download.

Bought this planning on retiring my 74gb 8mb Raptor. Wasn't expecting any decrease in performance because of how many positive reviews i have read about this drive, but it's definitely noticeable. The raptor was much snappier. Gonna just use this as a storage drive. Great deal though. Only took 2 days to reach pittsburgh.

I'm surprised. I had a 74GB 16mb cache raptor and found it to be painfully slow compared to the 250GB AAKS drives in Raid 0 that this F3 replaced.

Yeah these drives roast the old raptors. Except for access times.
