hey,i recently finished my new comp it up and running everythings great.Except my processor runs kinda hot.(45-47C idle,55-57C heavy load)Heres what i have:
-Pentium 4 3.0 Ghz Prescott
-1GB Kingston DDR-400
-Ati Radeon 9800 Pro
-Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Gamer
-MSI Neo2 Motherboard
I replaced the stock heatsink with a Coolermaster socket 478 with Leds.i put one bb sized drop of artic silver 5 then installed the heatsink, even though on the heatsink package said spread the thermal paste on the heatsink i followed Artic silver's instructions.(that could be part of it. I ran cpu burn-in to test it at 100% and the temp got to 57C(close to 60C which is harmful i read)Should i add another system fan for did i not do a good job installing the heatsink?i hear people saying theyre getting like 35C idle temps i would not even try to overclock if these are the temps im going to have lol.any advice would be appreciated.
