Hi all!!

I'm looking for a real cool-looking, sleek, sexy display. NOT looking for an Apple display. I don't really play games, although I would like something decent, with decent contrast, brightness, blacks, etc. I occasionally do some graphics and video editing. But mostly, I'm looking for aesthetics. I'm looking to purchase two flat panel screens for dual monitors, each something in the 19" range. (I use 2 19" CRTs --yes, still-- at 1280x1024 now).

cheers!

Since you're ruling out Apple monitors (who are very nearly the only ones who even think about aesthetics for monitors), you'll have to help us out here... we don't know how to apply Rule 34 to monitors, which are mostly just black rectangles, unless they really screw up and put a fat protruding bezel on the bottom edge.

Aesthetics are really subjective.. and for monitors they all pretty much look the same to me

I was like... Rule 34?... check HardForum rules, nope don't go that high... Google... LOL

I don't think you'll find anyone that can recommend an attractive 19" standard aspect ratio monitor. If you are willing to use something widescreen and slightly larger, Samsung is supposed to be releasing a new monitor. I heard it was slated for a March 2011 release date but since I haven't seen it for sale I suppose the schedule has slipped.

Just search for Samsung 950 monitor and you'll see it.

Hello all,
Yes, I know aesthetics are subjective, I was just really looking for some ideas of something sleek.

PCMusicGuy,
Thanks for the response. I am willing to go widescreen (doesn't have to be 19") but I don't want it TOO big, since (a) i will be using 2 of them and (b) I'd like to stick to around 300-400 per screen. That Samsung 950 is nice... just what I'm talking about, but is too expensive for me.

The Samsung PX2370 seems nice (even though big)... what do people think? Cheap-o or decent? How about the BX2050

Also what about some stuff from LG? Something like E2290V-SN? I love how super-thin it is.

Well if you want something super thin then you should go for LED screens because they are slightly thinner. About the design itself it is not much to be said here because we don't know what you consider that looks cool or hot in your opinion. But if you ask me I consider fully glossy monitors(screen and bezel) to be very modern and cute. By far if you choose monitor by outside look, your imagigng specifications are going to be limited by that however today most TN screens are basically same in performance so not much of trouble.

And I don't recommend you to buy dual 19s rather buy 20-24, believe me the size matter very much.
