Hello everyone I am new to the forum and would like to say welcome. I just built a PC a couple of days ago and am putting it through some warm up and checking to make sure everything is stable before I start pushing it. I have a couple of questions for you all.
First this is what I am working with.
i5 2500k stock (right now)
MSI twin frozr III PE/OC 2gb 6950
Gigabyte GA-z68xp-UD4
CM Hyper 212+ (Tuniq Tx-4 TIM)
Rosewill ranger (2 intake, 4,exhaust fans) Case
72000rpm HDD
2x4gb(8GB) DDR3 1866 9Latency 1.5v (stock)
I am getting some interesting heat on the 4 cores. they read like this (realtemp) Idle:0-27 1=30 2=34 3=25 Load 100% using prime 95 (blend): 0=40 1=46 2=50 3=42 The 1 and 2 cores are always hotter than the 0, 3 cores but temps have only maxed out at 53 degrees (67 F ambient). I was wondering if this was indicative of an improper heat sink placement and I needed to remount. I twisted the screws in an even cross patter so I think I mounted it correctly however this is the first time I have ever mounted a heat sink. Thanks
I was wondering if you guys knew of any good test stress tests I can run for my GPU, CPU, and RAM. I have downloaded prime95, LinX, memtest (I could not get my memtest to run off of the usb (I set the boot priority in the bios to boot off of USB-FDD first but it still didn't run) also in cpu-z my radeon 6950 doesn't show the core clocks or anything other than the type of card it is ie 6900 series I was wondering if anyone knew how to fix this. Thanks
One last thing I was just curious to see where I stood and what I should be expecting with temps if everyone could post up their core temps 0-3, Frequencies, voltage and processor (preferably i52500k but feel free to post up others). Sorry for all the questions and If i have this in the wrong forum I am sorry but I figured since all of this has to do with an eventual Overclock I felt like this was the best place.
