I hope this is an acceptable place for this thread...
My parents had Dish Network installed in their home in the mid 90s and have been using it ever since, despite buying a few very nice HDTVs. They finally gave in and upgraded to HD yesterday. As usual, they made their technology purchase without consulting me. When I went over to their home last night to check it out, I was downright appalled at how terrible of a signal it was. I'm used to watching AT&T Uverse in my own home, using similar TVs (one 55" is actually identical). At their home on the Dish Network "HD" I had to actually switch back and forth between HD and SD signals before I actually noticed a difference, which was minimal. Most SD television content I download and put on their XBMC PC looks far better than what Dish Network is delivering as their HD signal.
Is this a commonly known thing that Dish Network just has bad HD quality compared to other providers like Uverse?
