Was playing WoW. Noticed some nasty video corruption...

Thought... HRm... that ain't right.
Replace my ATI 9600Pro with a 9800. Still getting video corruption. But now it's worse...

Memtest86 came out fine. I have _JUST_ rebuilt the system, too.

The video demos from ATi run great. It's just these two games (so far) that are this awful.
Oh... Catalyst 5.3 AND 5.4 do the same thing.

Thoughts?

Specs:
Asus A7M266-D Mobo with 1010 bios
AMD XP2400 (2 of em)
ATi 9800 at standard speed
1.5G Crucial PC2100 ECC/REG
200G Seagate ATA100 w/8MB cache
Adaptec 2940UW
TurtleBeach SantaCruz
LeadTek TV2000
Asus USB2
3Com 3C905B
NEC DVD-3100A
TruPower 420W

XP SP2 + catalyst 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 drivers.
Um.... I can't find chipset drivers for this mobo. ASUS doesn't have any listed. IT's an AMD 768 chipset.

No, it's not trippy at all..It's downright annoying.

I've been getting the same problem in WoW recently, and is really screwy when in the IF auction house, and you can't read a damn thing b/c of the corruption  . It doesn't always happen, but seems to occur when having been logged in for a while, and a relog seems to fix it (temporarily at least).

Perhaps it's a VIA chipset issue?..My setup isn't exactly the one in my sig (had a HD crash :( Gotta RMA the thing)..So, my cpu/R9500 are now sitting in my old KG7-Raid (AMD 761NB/VIA 686 SB), Samsung ECC, blah, blah backup box. Also tried everything between 4.9 and the 5.4 Cats, nothing has changed. I thought at first that it might be airflow issues, as my backup box has only an exhaust fan..But I rigged up another 80mm to blow on both sides of the card, also running w the side off..Still get the corruption.

The only thing I haven't tried yet is updating the boards drivers, but being so old, there hasn't been any put out in a long time I imagine, but I don't recall what version of the VIA 4-in-1/Hyperion drivers I'm running..So, might be worth it to look into that.

[edit] Oh, and no NOT running SP2..Just SP1, but do have DX 9.0c - I believe WoW required it @ install..And yes, did the Driver Cleaner Pro run when taking out the R128 Pro AIW that was in the box before it..

Deffective video ram chips or the video ram is overheating. When you get that type of corrupted with the colored circles and stuff its ram. When you get the black flickering triangles in the middle of the screen its the gpu overheating. Try sticking a case fan on that thing. You might have bad ventilation in your case.
