I've just come across a Mitsubishi Diamond Plus 92 which I'm running at 1280x960@85Hz at the moment. It has bandwidth to spare to go to my preferred refresh of 100Hz but doing so would seem to be pushing it from the horizontal frequency point of view (30-96kHz). I went and found a calculator which would appear to confirm my trepidation of taking the resolution up a step. Could running at that limit be injurious to the display? Is there any fudge room in horizontal frequency specs?
