Are there any good cases out there that mount the motherboard horizontaly? What with the continuing trend of heavier CPU and GPU heat sinks it seems to me that the whole vertical mounted MB is becoming a "bad idea"(tm).

I've also as of late decided to keep heading down the path of massive external storage in the form of a dedicated file server on a fast ethernet connection, external CD encloser (eSATA) since I rarely use a CD/DVD drive, and a few high speed hard drives for OS/Apps (eg RAID-0 Raptors), so my need for a massive case with a large number of bays is non-existant.

Anybody know of a horizontal mount case with 3-5 120mm fans, 4-6 3.5" drive bays, and preferably a bit of room on the back to drill some holes for an external water cool system?

I've found this:

but I'm not sure I want a fully clear case and:

is another option but not too fond of the fan placement and airflow potential (for non-WCed components)

If you're water cooling I can't see that the weight of the waterblocks would put any strain on the board at all. Not sure what you're saying because you mentioned 2 things (is it 2 things?)
1. You want a case that you can mount horizontally
2. Something about a file server, suggestion for a case ...?
3. You want (1. case) to have those specs.

Clarify a bit as it's confusing.

I have a file server, it's huge, tons of space, don't need a big case for main machine. As far as water cooling not being heavy, I'll grant you that for the CPU block but have you seen some of these GPU blocks... they make the big air cooled heat sinks seem like lightweights. Honestly the GPU block is the main reason I want to go horizontal cause every time I see that flex in that card it desturbs me...
