hooking up my 5.1's

i seem to run into this problem anytime i have to take apart my setup and put it back together, but here goes:

i have klipsch 5.1's and abit nf7-s onboard sound. i've been swapping jacks forever now, and i've set rear speakers to line in, and center/sub to microphone and i still can't get it to work.

i've been to klipsch.com and their manual doesn't really help.

any hints guys?

What OS are you running? If you're running Vista, test all the channels using the Sound section in the control panel. Also, there might be something in the control panel like "speaker fill", which will change stereo sound into 5.1.

i have an a7n8-e deluxe and i had to get the audio drives from nvidia. im not sure if they are still available but there are site that still have this kind of stuff. with the last rev. of nforce soundstorm you can choose what plugs output the desired channel.
