This took hours of thought and tons of time to configure this cooling solution to my needs. I would like to present to you the Air Bahemoth 04.

Nice job... any kind of results you wish to present us with? Evidence to show that your thought and time paid off?

Patent that sucker!
I bet you could lower your temps 5c if you moved the dresser.

Hey my temp started out at 82.1 degrees ferenheit to 75.3, overclocking is working as smooth as can be

so what are your Wiring Temps?

if you had more organization in those wires i bet it would give you more pay out

please explain this, this is new to me
Hard drives themselves are well shielded by their metal casings. However, cables are not, so strong fluctuating magnetic fields can corrupt signals traveling through cables. While this won't physically damage your drive, it may cause some data corruption or other errors.

Maybe the extremely huge fan is where the so called extreme cooling title comes from. Man what a loser.d :D

theres already a thread on why this will ruin your harddrives

dont those motors put out a pretty big electrical field, i know at my old house when i ran the cieling fan that was in my room it would disrupt my wireless network, cordless phone and my monitor would get wavy.

or, since its summer and all if you run your a/c alot, just make a duct going from a/c to your computer :D

lol yeah i thought about having the computer in the cellar with really long KB and mouse cables, then have everything on usb on the desk (cd-rom etc in enclosures).

But your idea is pretty extreme, do you wear ear defenders? i never needed em where i used to work, a couple of hours working with heavy machinery and i couldnt hear a thing anyway......

i think that the next person that does this and posts about it thinking its some revolutionary shit i will skullrape to death, kthx Have a Nice Day :)

I don't know, a little bit of fine chicken wire for EMI shielding (we're talking motor here, not high frequency stuff) and some nicely made ducting (maybe acrylic, UV reactive) and this has potential :).
Small window size air conditioners actually make very good cooling units if you have a way to deal with the water condensation. Take a sealable room, for example a walk in closet with exterior wall, mount air conditioner, put a small hepa filter in to keep air clean, remove case sides and set air conditioner to 62 F. Makes a very nice little server room for about $200 in material. Ah, plus a monthly $40 for the roses for the misses when she complains again about all that wasted space.

when I first got here in 2001, thats what mota was doing (or was it fugu?)
and its what Im doing now ;)

by far the biggest results come from reducing the ambient temperature
heat transfer is all about differential temperatures

water condensation occurs in the AC itself
it actually dries the air for the computer
(which has its own hazards in that effects the severity of ESD)

Just mentioned the water because I tried it first in an inside room with no access to a sink/drain etc. Not a satisfying solution if you have to empty a bucket every day during monsoon season :p

Luckily Im on a high desert plateau, so extra humidity isnt really a big issue
but then Ive been mostly using a window unit, so it drains outside,
I also have a portable and I too occassionaly need to empty it, got a condensate pump like youd see in a big AC, or basement, but its really overkill for the amount generated here, and the drain in the portable is so low, I havent been able to employ it.

I had a setup similar to that with my stupid hot-headed Athlon K7 (500mhz). But it was a 7" clip-on 120v fan that i clamped down to the case.

I would be suprised if everyone who has pushed their system in the past hasn't at one point or another employed some redneck cooling as a temporary/permament solution.

Looks very noisy and impractical. As mentioned you need to move it all away from the dresser. And get rid of the fan grill and mount the damn thing into the sidepanel of the case. And then do a nice paintjob. That would be cool!

I wouldn't mount anything permanently, is your hard drive still running?

AC motors have EMI...

also this setup can cause dusts enter the casing....

noobies

Last time I checked, most (as in ALL) fans can cause dust to enter the case. There's no need to come here and rain on his parade...

Hope nothing gets sucked through that fan and blasted at your computer. 150MPH projectile vs computer.....computer= looser :D

come on zer0signal667... don't be sacarstic, you know what i mean...

casings with fans that have filters have much less dusts compared to this inferno

Sorry :D Just stating the obvious. But of course, sacrifices must be made for massive airflow.

very nice cooling :)
maybe moving the cables around you would get better temps.

How about placing your PC in a freezer??? lol.. there must be some way to prevent like water to form on the board right?

*sigh*, this is getting old, do you know how many people have posted this "fan next to your computer" thing...close to eleventy thousand...give or take...
