I am trying to setup a home VPN connection but I am having a couple of problems:
Setup:
Linksys WRT54G (DHCP Disabled)
PC1 (Windows XP, 192.168.1.100, Static IP)
PC2 (Windows 7, 192.168.1.101, Static IP)
I installed the VPN server on PC1 and opened up ports 1723 and 500 on my router to point to IP 192.168.1.100. For the VPN network properties I have checked off "allow callers to access my local network" and "allow calling computer to specify its own IP address". I have also set the TCP/IP address assignment to "Specify TCP/IP address" and have set the range 192.168.1.101 - 192.168.1.150.
On the remote side I have setup the VPN connection and for the networking portion I have set it up statically to use 192.168.1.135 and for the DNS servers I have used the ones which are assigned from my ISP to my WRT54G.
I am able to establish the VPN connection but I am not able to see anything in network neighboorhood or access file shares (eg \\192.168.1.100\c$ \\192.168.1.101\c or netbios name of PC1 & PC2) using the remote PC . On the client side I get the vpn icon in the tray saying which user is connected and when I double click it and go to the details tab I show the server IP address is 192.168.1.101 and the client IP address is 192.168.1.135.
Any help would be appreciated..............Thanks
