Howdy all,

Not sure if this is the right forum for this but.... can someone recommend good-but-not-too-expensive wireless IP cameras (preferably with infra-red) to use with ZoneMinder?

My neighbor and I are thinking about pooling together and buying a few cameras and make a security zone around our properties with everything recorded to my server and backed up on the cloud.

If someone has a home setup that is similar and has input on the software to use and/or cameras - that'd be greatly appreciated!

Thanks :)

I have a wired system...easy enough to self install though...I use Swann products...they do have some wireless stuff but I cannot vouch for those products.
I have been very happy with my swannview, loop recording, easily adjustable alarm/record on motion, good infra red and resolution, ability to access images from iphone or android or internet. It is not the cheapest or the priciest. At least worth a look at the web page though.

BTW...good support too...twice I called them for help set up internet and android functionality, and even though I am running the dvr box over a wireless bridge and they had no written protocol for this they figured it out 1-2-3, polite and prompt.

Let us know what you go with. Good luck.

Thanks. Unfortunately - I don't think this would work for us... first - it's a bit pricey (the wifi cameras I've seen on NewEgg are about $75ish with good reviews) and second, gotta go across about 50 feet of distance as some would be mounted at my neighbors place.

Update:

Configured ZoneMinder on Debian Squeeze as a VM.... a bit of a complicated software setup, but I am still wading through it...
