Looking for some advice on a build and reassurance that I'm not over/under-buying certain parts. Low energy use/noise is a plus.

General home use and some gaming.
Looking to stay around $1000, but flexible.
Dallas, TX so Microcenter is an option.
Only things I plan to reuse are NAS, BluRay, speakers, mouse, and keyboard. Need 2 monitors (144hz?), case, PS, CPU, MB, GPU, SSD, HD, memory.
I haven't overclocked since my Celeron 300A wouldn't get to 450Mhz.
Dual 1080P 144hz is what I think I want.
Plan to buy/build within a month.
Don't know much about MB features.
Need a copy of Windows 10 64bit.

Current PC is in signature.

Thanks in advance!

You're right. Probably going to come in around $1000 without case or monitors. I'm OK with that if the parts are all solid and I didn't go over/underboard on any of my choices. I also want to make sure that these are all generally compatible and will run 1080P at 144hz.

If your target resolution is 1080p 144hz gaming isn't that the one use case where AMD falls short in terms of minimum fps? I would advise Intel in this case. An i5-8400 or i5-8600k or i5-9600k.

I think you need an overclocked i5-8600k to reach near 144fps minimum the i5-8400 is actually roughly equal to the 2600X except for GTA V.
