Hi,

I just installed some of upgrades to my home network and am interested to see how secure it is from the WAN. Is there a testing site that can attempt to "break into" my home network and report back the results without actually risking damage or possibly compromising my data?

Secondly, the IP cameras that are on my home network require an open port on my router (port forwarding) so I can access them while traveling using my smart phone or laptop. Is there a more secure way to accomplish this while still being able to access my IP camera feeds?

Thanks.

The only sites I've seen that do an automated process are port scanners.

The alternative to port forwarding the cameras through your router is to use a VPN. Depending on your router it may/may not support acting as a VPN server. I've used both DD-WRT & currently PFSense for routing duties and both have the ability to act as a VPN server.
