Before I start, this has probably been seen before, but I just happened upon it today......now, this is in no way a flame, troll, ass-hole-ed-ness, or ANYTHING, and I LOVE my Windows computer...just to get thhat out of the way, but I thought it was...well...funny, but more along the lines of disturbing and would REALLY suck to have been through.....it's a video of some sort of technology showing, or Windows preview showing, or whatever....and Windows crashes.... :eek: :(

THIS WOULD SUCK BIG TIME!
 
That's classic.
(In several ways. It's win'98, it's very well-known, and it's still kind of funny.)

edit: I thought it was '95, but that's what I get for viewing it withough sound.
 
It's Windows 98 before its release (notice at the end: Bill Gates says "That's why we're not shipping windows 98 yet").
 
Monkey dance is the vid where Steve Balmer (another MS top guy) flys around on stage like a fool sweatin his ass off. There is also a techno remix to the vid as well.

The ctrl-alt-del one is where the IBM tech who invented that shortcut completely bashes MS (I wont give it away).


I have all the videos if someone has a place I can host them, they are pretty damn funny.

Those are both from the annual company meeting (from 4 and 3 years ago respectively, IIRC). He's in front of an audience of 16,000-18,000 fellow employees and the previous presenters had been demonstrating a wide range of new and upcoming products from across the company.

So he's a little excited...

If it were me up there, I'd be jumping around too. :)

A fuck-ton of cold hard cash. He ain't got as much as BillG has, but nevertheless he's easily a millionaire a couple times over.


I'd be happy to scream my fool head off like that if I were VP of sales for a corp that had a product about to ship and sell millions of copies.

I take pride in my work…
I like knowing that I’ve made other people’s lives easier…
Monetary gain is far from the driving force in my life…
…I doubt Steve is any different.


I can only speak for myself, and since I try to make my posts simply informative about products I know or MS in general, I’ll exit the thread here…
 
Maybe it's just me, but I find Ballmer's guts in this context very impressive. He is pretty high up on the food chain at MS and therefore people should have respect for him. However, he has the guts to 'make a fool of himself' to show his excitement about the company, effictively communicating to the employees that he appreciates their work. I think that is a big morale booster for anyone working at MS.

I mean, how much better does it get than your CEO telling you: "Guys, I cannot believe what an incredible job you did"? And yes, he could do it in a standard way, but his enthusiasm about it -even if faked- portrays him caring about the company and believing in a future of this companies and the employees...

I agree, and I can tell you that is NOT very common at all to see...and it should be.

Everything everyone has said in light of this post is absolutely correct...it's VERY nice to see CEO's like this. But it still looks funny as all mad hell! ;)

Actually Steve Ballmer is a Billionaire. He's the only person in history to become a billionaire by working for someone else. I believe he's also respectively high up on the Forbes 400 of the richest people in the world.
Relatively speaking, even being a multi-millionaire means sweet F-all these days, you've pretty much got to be a billionaire to get on the Forbes rich list.

How's that for I-don't-give-a-fuck-ness inducing. No wonder he seems a bit up himself.
