Holy Crap Sparks & Smoke

so last night I'm sitting here reading the forum, when I hear this sparking and BOOM ! !

smoke everywhere,

while this is going on i am yanking power cords from the computer and monitor..

I have a set of Cyber Acoustics A5640 5.1



there about 8 months old, it was the transformer that makes the 15V DC from the wall, half of the side is missing and you could tell it was on fire,,


man I thought I was gunna have a heart attack...

modded a lappy power supply this morning and hooked them back up, and they work great..

wow how lucky is that

i think buying a crappy set of speakers is a bad investment since they tend to do that.... and you can get your house burned down if you're not careful

actually the speakers sound great, just a crappy power supply,,

I'll keep the lappy aadapter on it, their alot better made,,,

but ya I feel very lucky I was sitting here,,,

Wow, glad to know you're safe. I'd check for a recall on something that serious. That is something that should NOT happen... (umm sorry for restating the obvious) i didn't find anything with a google but maybe a call to the manufacturer could yield a helping hand if they have a halfway decent customer service department.
