My old computer (700mhz) no longer has any bays or covers, and is missing a couple PCI covers from the back. Would duck/packing tape be a good idea to seal the holes? The temperatures are around 30C load now, but I don't want it filling up with dust.

I had no problems when i ghetto rigged up my 2.4C with electrical tape. Beats having dust.

mmmmmmmmm..... Duct tape. An engineer's best friend.

Seriously, tho. Might want to think about possible residue that's left behind when you remove the tape. If you remove the tape. If it even matters...

It's going to be kept behind the TV somewhere :)

Peice of cardboard w/ packing tape. doesn't leave nasty residue. (Or just packing tape) :p

WD40 removes any tape residue with almost no effort, duct tape will wrinkle and fall off after a while, the plastic shipping tape will work better unless you are buying gaffers tape, which will hold for a couple three years before it shows any sign of age, and three more before you have to replace it. but it costs around $25.00 a roll, if you can find a supplier.

Card board and packing tape is the best,

and you can paint it, so it looks good :D

Yes, I discovered this when using WD40 to assist in burning something I had duct taped together. The combination of the two will burn forvever

no problem with any tape, cardboard is ok too, packing tape, will do just fine if you plan on messing around with it, but if you just whant to leave it as is and that it then duct tape away and have fun
