nope but it would be best if there was a specific section for books too :)
 
There's little interest in books....we have threads in EM from time to time, but as a hot topic, it ain't. Feel free to start a discussion.

or maybe theres interest but no-one posts becuase theres no specific thread location? :p
the first time i came to the forums and i wanted to post about books i didnt know where to post at all so i didnt incase i was going to get banned :(

maybe we could do a poll and see who wants a place for books and who doesnt?
 
Yeah, I've been meaning to post something about What's the Matter with Kansas, and I was thinking that "Video Cards" was the most appropriate place... If there were a book section, I wouldn't have that problem. :D

1. The forum isn't a democracy.
2. For the time being, entertainment media is the proper place to discuss books. If there are enough book threads in EM, there's a possibility of creating a specific forum for books. However, I doubt they'll just create forums because there might be sufficient interest in the area.

i understand your viewpoint and its basically the perspective of admins but theres no harm in asking :D
 
The entire Entertainment Media forum was to be dropped from the lineup when we reorganized the forum 2 years ago. It was decided to combine the topics such as books/movies/interesting items pertaining to entertainment into one forum. So we have tried separate forums in the past, but with little interest. It's not from an Admin viewpoint, rather an historical one.

but history does repeat itself...and when you look back there are other viewpoints to it ;)

way back when the hobbies section was first introduced there was a books forum and it was pretty active with pretty good threads but im not sure what happened to it.
