Gee.... I'm a noob and I'm in CompUSA...
I see:
a 6600GT for $199.99
a 6800nu for $299.99
a 6800GT for $399.99
a 6800 Ultra for $499.99
and
a 5950 Ultra for $499.88

hmmm.... I guess... I'll go with the 5950 Ultra... its got a prettier box, and is a $500 card... it should rock right?! LOL

(insert a LOAD of sarcasm please)

Just wondering how many poor schmucks walk in and buy the 5950 instead of a much faster 6600GT, 6800nu, or 6800GT b/c they assume its faster b/c it costs more!

P.S. if you're a noob reading this.... get one of the 1st 3 items in the list depending on your budget. Personally, I think the 6800nu is the best deal b/c so many people are successful at softmodding and OC'ing them. (myself included)

I forgot what the exact situation was (it was a long time ago), but one time I was amazed at hearing the "advice" coming out of a salesmans mouth, b/c it was so DUMB!!

It was painful to hear.... almost like a congenitally blind paraplegic telling someone how to play basketball.

I am happy with my BFG 6800NU. I was able to unlock the pipes and vertex shaders. I am also overclocking to 400 / 850 without artifacts or problems. You can get a $20 instant rebate from newegg.
