I am in the market for a good PCI-E 6800gt, and I need it to overclock well. Which 6800gt should I buy?

My choice are the following:

XFX 6800gt PCI-E
BFG 6800gt oc PCI-E
eVGA 6800gt PCI-E

Price is of little importance since they are all in the same range.

Thanks in advance. :)

Its a matter of reputation for me. I always hear this or that about them. Usually alot of what I hear about the XFX card isn't good. That's why I didn't buy one when I got the chance. Instead I waited another week or so until the eVGA cards were restocked. I got the eVGA and I couldn't be happier. It's temps are reasonable at Ultra speeds and it overclocked from day one without any issues.

eVGA's step up program is unique and very much like the idea of sending back my card for the difference.

Back to the XFX issue. Some people report good results with them others do not. Most eVGA and BFG experiences are rather good. With only the occasional weird software issue and rarely a problem where a card needs to be RMA'ed back to the manufacturer. Again both those cases I read about were positive about the RMA process. Whereas the bad stuff reported about XFX seems to be about as much as the good. Therefore what I usually hear is

eVGA 95% satisfaction
BFG 90% satisfaction
XFX 50% satisfaction

That's just the way it seems when you read stuff on these forums and others. BFG and eVGA are good and the general consensus seems to be that if you buy an XFX card, it's kind of like roulette. Sometimes you win, sometimes you don't.

Look in the anandtech hotdeals forum for how to get $40 of the eVGA at monarchcomputers.com for a grand total of $410. That's the best price you'll find on a 6800 gt right now.
