Ok it seems to be a little lag during game play every 5 seconds for HL2 game. TF2 wont even open up for game play - its shows VALIDATING and stops. I am thinking of going back to XP Pro since ive never had this problem before. Do you think my Gaming PC specs needs more ram? I just got my EVGA 8800GT AKIMBO video card so it should play really well. THanks:(

No, what you should do is to logout of steam, delete the clientregistry.blob file in your steam folder and try again

HL2 and TF2 both work fine for me on vista 64

The Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit version that I am using was a download from a torrent site. Could the OS be somewhat sh*t made and I should rather get me genuine version? It did however updated the OS.

Neither the legit, nor the cracked versions have any issues with HL2, look to hardware faults and possible overheating as the cause.

DING DING DING for some reason deleting this file fixes a lot of problems. You may also want to try deleting the local content of the games not working and redownload them. I have been on ultimate 64bit for a bit and the only think i run it to is games crash when closing, so its hasn't been a big deal to me.

Is this a problem cause with Vista users or just in general?

Just in general.. And go buy a genuine copy! You buy a nice system you can afford Vista. Really it's not that much.
