^eMpTy^ said:How ironic...you buy an ATi card that comes with a game that doesn't show up until after you have switched back to the competition...
teehee
I didn't mean that in a bad way... seriously I don't know what will be in my system 2 months from now. Or that it will even be the same system.^eMpTy^ said:lol...all bullshit aside though...HL2 is going to be a great game...and worth the exceptionally long wait
joemama said:Who knows...they might be actually ready to release the thing. If it were any other game it would be a bad move to release it so close to Doom 3 but with HL2 people will buy it anyway (even if they have to go way over their monthly gaming budget

HL2 better not go Gold during that period.

"HL2 World announced that Half-Life 2 will be finished on August 5th: "Right now we are looking at our bug numbers. Each day you fix some bugs and you find some new bugs. The net number tells you how quickly you will get to zero. At our current rate of find/fix bugs, we'll be down to zero bugs in 16 days" (Gabe Newell from Valve Software). "
Hmm. Anyone else also doubt that quote came from Gabe? At any rate, anyone with experience will agree that that is no how software or games are developed/debugged. A countdown to "zero bugs in 16 days" just isn't how it happens, nor is it how developers/debuggers work. I actually laughed when I first read that.
So im guessing coffee sales are gonna go through the roof this next month And there is gonna be a world wide epidemic of insomnia
regardless of when valve completes hl2, vivendi knows not to release it anytime near doom3's release date. that would be unwise as it would hurt sales of both games. im guessing sep 30th as well. but i wouldn't be too suprised if it came out in november or december for the holidays
in the end though it doesnt really matter....anyone with a half decent comp is own BOTH games...
On a side note, why the hell is this in the video cards forum?
Just in time for me to go back to school.
I just like to know how their servers are going to hold up with all the people with ATI vouchers trying to download the game at once. I have a feeling a lot of people with vouchers will be buying the retail game because they don't want to wait.
