HL2 - can I change difficulty level?

I was just wondering if you can change the difficulty level after you started playing the game, without starting over. I was hoping for a simple console command, but I haven't found one yet. I'm finding the easy level a little too easy, and wanted to switch to normal mode. Any help is appreciated.

its in the options menu, huh i forget its exact name, but its one of the options on the main page

ya theres an option for it when in game just push esc and find it i forget what it is tho..

just push esc, click on options, and the difficulty level should be on top...change it to what you want and it'll change right away...

Now if I can fix my stuttering sound problems... try turning down the audio quality next...
