Feel free to analyze. Done using Canals / C17 demos from Brent Justice's pack, found here. Specs in sig.

RA = Reflect All
RW = Reflect World

All settings set to High, all AA / AF settings set in game. CP set to High Quality. 5.1 Surround Sound enabled, set to High, using 4.12b's.

Wooh thats one damn nice sweet spot. Keep up the good work with benches, if I was looking into a high end system I'd take this review over most of the other sites.

No other comments?

I for one didn't realize what little FPS impact going from 8xAF to 16xAF makes, as well as the differences in AA levels. I always for some reason thought they hit for higher frames than that. At 1600, going from 2xAA to 4xAA only hits for 4 FPS. Not a big hit.

Perhaps I should be taking IQ shots to see if you really need AA at 2048, from what I saw while the demos were running, you don't, but I don't know how to take specific shots like that and analyze :(

HL2 seems to be SEVERLY CPU-limited

and nice FPS there :eek: :cool:

Um, no. You will notice that FPS drops ALOT as resolution goes up when all else is equal (i.e. AA and AF levels). That indicates the benches are GPU limited, not CPU limited. If it was CPU limited, you'd increase the resolution and the FPS would stay about the same, because load on the card would not be a limiting factor.

How did you enable that high res?

In game, it's a standard option. As long as your monitor can use it of course. 2048 is the max most monitors go, and it's the max that the game goes.
