HL2 benchies?

honestly, I don't think this game is going to be that big of a deal with the benchmarks...I have a GT running stock on a 2800+ with a 266Mhz fsb...and I'm still running smooth as butter at 16x12 4xaa 8xaf...that's all I care about...

*edit* not to say the game doesn't matter...cuz OMFG is it sweet...I'm just saying...compared to Doom3 and FarCry...it isn't as much of a drag on my system...I have speed to spare...

I'm planning to buy a 6800nu, cause I dont have enought to buy a GT (actually I do, but it would really hurt my wallet >_<)

I'd like to know how well it performs from another person's point of view.

I just want to be able to play it smoothly at 10x7 or 12x9 with aa and stuff..
 
like I just said...I'm doing 16x12 with 4xaa and 8xaf on my GT no problem...and my system isn't even all that fast...so take that for what it's worth...

oh...and buy the GT...so worth the extra $$$...

I have a 6800 nu (already posted what I get earlier), but the game with very playable. The game automatically sets everything on high with 4xAA and 8xAF. Runs great.
 
Rofl, it's kind of sad that driver heaven's result are ripped from ATi's slides. What's funny is I can play the game at 1280x1024 4xaa 8xaf quite smoothly lol.
 
how much did ati pay driver heaven for them to be so phanboyish? i mean how did they become on the ati side?( not just for hl2, for like everything!) and BTW did they do a doom3 benchmark? i wanna see it ahah

I remember their CS: Source "benchmark" just as funny. LOL I wonder if they're closing threads again asking why their HL2 "benchmarks" are the same as those from ATi's slide, LMAO.

I was banned from DH long ago for pointing out their BS/bias (nicely) in nearly every article/benchmark involving nvidia. They just didn't want to hear it.

don't worry about it if you want to compare ati vs nvidia.. Brent is working very hard on it at this moment! but if u want to costume bench it.. use fraps i guess and record a demo..

I'm so tempted to make a thread politely asking why their "benchmarks" look suprisingly like the ATi slides and why they didn't publish any info on the PCs used yet they still say "Over the last week I have been playing with Half life 2 and a mixture of ATI and Nvidia hardware with the newest released ATI 4.12 beta drivers and Nvidia's newest 66.93 drivers. "

Which isn't really possible since it was just unlocked. :rolleyes:

Man am I so tired of this PR/BS crap, it's enough to make me not get HL2.
 
That is because the ATI slides come from the driverheaven benchmarks... The driverheaven benches did not come from the slides.

i dont think you woul want to see it.. i literally spammed thier forums.... and its mostly cusswords regarding how bs they are to nvidia and thier so called benchmarks :) but i ma sure if you go there and look at the forum you'll find me... under a diff name though :)
 
Should you really be letting us know how ignorant you can be? If you have an issue with the article post in the topic that they created for feedback on it. Don't go to their forums and be an ass.

This is all fixed by Ati and Nvida. Both companies are working together to cash in lots of money. There is really no battle between ati and nvidia.

I read in their forums, the dude from DH admitted to simply reposting the ATi stuff...if you ask me...that's about as low as it gets...like...he didn't even credit them with it...how ridiculous
