HL2 benches with beta drivers

yet another round of confusing benchmarks...vr-zone shows a nice boost for the 6800s with the latest drivers...but with the 61.77s and a 3800+ on the GT they manage to get 10fps lower than xbit in every resolution and they used a 3400+, 400 imaginary Mhz slower...so I don't know what to think about that...hell elite bastards got similar results on a 2500+...

So again, if you take all the data together, it seems possible to show the GT way ahead of the pro and the Ultra almost catching the XTPE...or you could show both the GT and the Ultra behind the Pro...

This review gets a BLAH from me...why can't the results line up for crying out loud...

I remember seeing a screenshot from a bencmark where 2 planks of wood were leaning in water, on the 6800 series the wood was really dark as if no lighting was around, whereas the x800 series it looked light.....

Dunno what was up there....lighting issues maybe? Will most probably give different fps due to the complete differences....at the end of the day, it doesn't look like we are gonna get any reliable benchies till the games out......

It's the fact that xbit used sp2 that makes their results differ. All the sites that use sp1 seem to have similar results.

I say to hell with all the benchmarks until Brent does his own or HL2 is on retail shelves and we can do it ourselves on our own boxes.

Truth.
Different systems will result in different benchmarks, a top-of-the-line system is going to obviously differ greatly from a mid-range system. Also take into account the performance of the different systems... VIA, nVidia, and Intel Chipsets all have different overclockability INDIVIDUALLY, not just across the board!
