Hitman movie

I think it might be good. the thing is in the game, especially blood money, he ALWAYS has a sinister look on his face. that's just not possible in the movie, so at times in the movie he'll look less initimidating, or 'soft', and basically not like the hitman we know in the game.

He looks a little too young imo. Movie still looks interesting.

I think Jason Statham would have been a good choice to play 47. This guy looks nothing like a hitman, much less 47.

I 2nd this.

Jason would be perfect for this role. But o well, iam still gonna see it.

I'd rather have Vin then Tim, yeah, he's a real badass...especially in Gone in 60 Seconds.

you know I thought at first he might be too young looking, but if you look up Tim Olyphant (whatever) and look at pictures, he does have the jaw line. I think if anything the lighting is what needs to be focused on making him more sinister looking.

Seems interesting though.

I enjoyed the trailer, defiantly going to see it. Hitman has the potential to be a great movie, more so then all this comic book shit out right now. *prepares to be flamed*

I have to agree...

batman spiderman, hulk, fantastic 4, naked fat man, battle of long cats...like WTF

Hitman will be great and so will the Splinter Cell movie :D

I cant wait for the Splinter Cell movie. After seeing Syriana I would love to see someone like George Clooney as Sam Fisher. If this isnt Sam Fisher I dont know what is.

Although from what I understand in the new Splinter Cell game they are making Sam appear a lot younger. I was always under the impression he was around 50.

Yeah, removed, but I'd love to see Jason Statham play this roll as well.. he seems custom fit for it. Especially after driver.. not driver 2. :/ Now crank...

Cool I didn't know they were making a SC movie, always thought cloony looked the part. I doubt he's 50 in the games but probably not far off, theres always jokes about his age over the comms.

Well, am I the only one who thinks that this trailer is fucking ridiculous? We see a guy who looks like a college student trying to look cool/bad-ass/sinister with two 1911's, we have a hot chick (hell yeah, love motive in the Hitman franchise, I can't fucking wait for this), a big KABOOOM and for God's sake there's even no garotte in there (probably to keep the ratings down, shooting people is OK, but strangulation is not hahahahahha). Also I have no idea what the hell are HK USP's doing in the movie's logo, I always tought that garotte and the 1911's are 47's signature weapons. I bet that this movie is going to be a huge letdown. Oh, and I do know that T. Olyphant is almost 40 years old - it doesn't change the fact that in this trailer he looks like a kid.

I actually think this movie looks great so far. It has the atmosphere of the Hitman series and more accuracy than I'd expect from a video game movie. So what they get the pistols wrong? Everything else looks spot on. All white creepy lab, fancy locations, and Olyphant actually looked better than I thought he would. It's not Jason Statham but he's not a bad second. And his love interest? They could do something creepy with that, recall in the first game where he gets kissed and shivers?

I have a really hard time with this trailer. Hitman is tailor made to be a great movie. Lots of action, intrigue, and mystery surrounding 47's background, but I just can't get past the casting of Timothy Olyphant. I never saw him in Deadwood, but every other movie I've seen with him, he's had a shit-eating grin on his face the entire time. I just can't picture him as an emotionless killing machine after that.

Also, I still don't understand why they didn't just cast David Bateson as 47. He provided the voice for all the games and the character was modeled heavily on his features. He obviously doesn't have name recognition, but then again, how many people know Timothy Olyphant's name? He's just "that guy" who's been in some stuff.

I could easily see them dropping the ball with this one. It'll probably be a serviceable action flick, but I really doubt that it will live up to the ambiance of the games.

Tim Olyphant plays an intense bad-ass really well (Just watch a few episodes of Deadwood...or the movie "Girl next door").

But when I saw the trailer, I agree he doesn't really fit the look here.

Probably still worth checking out. I mean, hell, I wouldn't have thought Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne/Batman, but the 2 Batman movies he was in were a helluva lot better than the one's with Clooney and Kilmer. (Though not Batman Begins...that one rocks).

I was never a fan of the Hitman games, but I hope this film does well, just to give the old "game to movie" thing a shot in the arm (and at least Uwe Boll was nowhere to be found in the vicinity of it! :p)

Oh man! Haha, you beat me to it. I was just going to post about how enthused I am about the movie. They took the music from the games, especially from the last one, and the actor looks like he could play the part well. Then again, I was overly excited about Silent Hill, and look what happened. lol. Not to mention Doom which was the worst disappointment ever.

You're right about the guy and the gun. It makes no fucking sense, how they could take great plots from games and totally fuck them up. I mean, look at Doom. Why was that about a chromosome, and not just straight up about opening a door to hell on Mars? I mean... it would have been so much better.

This is gonna be just as gay as every other movie based off a video game.

David Bateson is the essence of Hitman...Timothy Olyphant just looks like a guy with a gun in a cheap Italian suit, if i wanted to see that i would go down the street and piss off the bouncer at the local night club.

Pleeeeeeeease be a good movie!

It may well come out as a good action movie. Whether it will come out as a good movie that fits in well with the Hitman mythos and completely in character is something I entirely doubt.

For one, I didn't see a syringe or garrote. Can't be Mr 47 without those.

just saw the trailer. it could be pretty damn cool. its just a matter of who fucks it up and when imo.
