The Antec 420Watt PSU I was using in my dually system died, so i needed a replacement. After reading around, I was really impressed by the Hiper Type-R 580W. (PSU fried friday night, ordered new PSU saturday afternoon, had it installed tuesday afternoon. God I love Newegg) Anyway, got it in my case, with just video and a couple case fans hooked up. When I power up, the PSU fans spin, cpu fans (which are plugged into the motherboard) spinup, and the case fans (plugged into a molex connector) spin; but I don't get video, and no POST beeps.

I tested everything out with an older PSU, and everything started up good. I dug out my nerd bag I use at work, and grabbed a PSU tester. According to it, there's no power on the -5V line. My tester has an "Intelligent LED" that lights up red if something's bad, and it's lit up red. Everything else tests green.

So, first of all, and it may be a stupid question, is the PSU dead, or am i just not doing some thing right. Second, after searching the forum, Hipers don't seem to have the best reputation. (Maybe I shoulda read around _here_ before i ordered...) Assuming this one's dead, should I RMA a replacement, or get a refund (minus 15% restocking ree) and get something else? And if so, what?

Specs:

Tyan Tiger MPX S2466
Dually Athlon M 2000+'s
4 Gigs Registered Ram
Radeon All-in-Wonder 8500DV
2 120Gbs, an 80Gb, and a 300Gb hard drive (and planning on adding an SATA 500Gb soon)
DVD Drive, and a DVD Burner

I'm thinking all of that was too much for the poor little 5 year old power supply to take. Only got the dually components last September, after 4+ years on a single processor system, and everything ran fine until a game of counterstrike friday night, and then, boom.

Thanks for any help ya'll can give.

According to someone at 2cpu forums, ATX 2.X PSU's don't have a -5V line, so nevermind on that. (I know next to nothing about power supplies (obviously)). So, if there's nothing _wrong_ with it, what could be causing my problem. Or, to start over again, is there any reason that my system would not work with this power supply?
