I have two FreeNAS file servers running the latest version of FreeNAS. I have a RAID 5 array on a RocketRAID 2210 in a P4 2.4GHz system and a RAID 5 array on a RocketRAID 2300 in a Phenom 9600 system.
My question:
Is there any way to get SMART status and/or other disk stats reporting to FreeNAS from the HighPoint RocketRAID controllers?
I'd like to be notified when SMART values hit their limits so I will know when a disk is too hot or when one is failing.
I'm not familiar with installing "drivers" for SCSI/RAID controllers in FreeBSD, or if it will mess up anything in FreeNAS.
