Highpoint raid question

I have a machine that has 2 60 gig drives on a 370 highpoint raid card. Currently I am using it as a Digital PVR using Hauppage win 250 PVR. The raid is configured as raid 1 a mirror, so I only have the 60 gig capacity. If I configure the raid as JBOD (just a bunch of drives) will I suffer the same problem as raid 0 (striping), which is usually total data loss if a drive fails. Is the data readable on the unfailed drive of a JBOD? The reason I am doing this is to double my storage capacity. Thanks for any help.

512 PC133 Sdram
onboard sound and ethernet
Radeon 7200 VIVO 64meg
Hauppage Win PVR 250

JBOD stands for "Just a Bunch Of Disks", which means just what is says... the hard drives act as independant disks and are not connected to each other in any way. If you switch to JBOD you will have to back up your data from one disk to the other manually if you need redundancy. You will be able to access the full capacity of each disk though, so you will have 120MB available for storage.
