HighPoint 2720SGL SOLD OUT!!!!

They are the exact same card. Only difference is the 2720 comes with the 2 x sff-8087 mini-sas connector cables and the 2720SGL doesn't. I found the 2 x sff-8087 mini-sas connector cables much cheaper ($20) @ monoprice. Total price w/ mono cables would equal $160 for the 2720sgl instead of $220 for the 2720. That's $60 in savings!

But If you look at the reviews for the one I linked, everybody says it does not come with cables and newegg also lists it as having a lot of other features.

High Point's website is down now, but I remember there were no differences in features on the mfg. page and it does show cables in the 2720 pics on newegg. However, they are not the breakout cables that you need to connect 8 SATA hard drives. Each breakout cable is $32.99 each on newegg and you need 2 of them. I got both for $23 shipped on monoprice.

Good call, and yes, monoprice has great prices.

Too bad the lower-cost version is sold out!

This review of the card on Newegg's site gave me a chuckle:

Pros: PCI-e card is very compact and fits in my Lian-Li Q8 Windows Home Server (WHS) 2011 build very nicely. Running 5 2T Samsung 2TB in RAID 5. Getting about 100-120 GB/sec for large GB sized video files using a one year old Intel Mini-ITX with 3.6 GHz dual-core processor and 8 MB of memory.
