Highest MS you would use for gaming.

12 max, but manufacturers stretch specs, 12ms monitor can clock average 20 and up. They are 4ms lcds out there but i don't think they are good enough yet
 
The max response time that I would go for would be 12 ms. I dont think that I would go lower just yet because there's just too much dithering unless it's got the overdrive technology which has everything of both worlds, 24bit color and fast response time.
 
I don't know why people have to get LCDs with such low response times. My last LCD, a Samsung 171s which had a 25ms response time seems absolutely no different in the same games compared to my current LCD, the Samsung 930B which features an 8ms response time. I've also had plenty of high quality CRT monitors before, and while I agree the CRTs obviously are better for gaming in most scenarios, this response time spec should be taken with a grain of salt.
 
I tried one with a 25ms samsung panel, and it sucked. I'd say 12ms myself too.
