Higher Resolution Than 1080P TVs (PopSci Article)

I wouldn't put it past them to make them.

The question is whether or not they will actually sell them.

There has to be a degree of efficiency in manufacturing techniques before firms will be willing to sell such high resolution screens, regardless of whether there is a market for them or not.

As mentioned by the article, infrastructure in terms of delivering broadcasts to the 'box will most likely have to have time to catch up too.

Let's wait and see what happens. I'm on the fence with this one, look how rapidly the prices in 1080p panels has fallen. I'm not going to say a higher resolution standard won't come out within the next 5 years.

Would be awesome. Can't wait until we see high resolution combined with 120+hz. All I know is after going 2560x1600, I won't ever go back to 1080p.

i would honestly rather have broadcasting catch up to offering all 1080i/p instead of only 720p.
