I have a P4 2.4C on a P4P800 that can run at 250 fsb with the memory 3:2 or at 240fsb with the memory at 5:4... Will the extra memory bandwidth be noticeable if I go with 5:4 and lose 100 mhz?

Thanks.

Depends on what software you are running. Most games seem to prefer memory bandwidth over a slightly higher CPU clock.

run some BENCHMARKS on your machine and see!! newb cheeze

Run the type of benchmark that you're interested in.

If you're a gamer, run 3dmark 2001.

If you're an office user run some Bapco or Winstone type benchmark.

If you're a video encoder do a few test encodes and time the same file at the 2 different settings.

You can also run sisoft for a quick references to see what your CPU & memory scores are at each setting.

The video encoding would probably be better at 250, but more bandwidth intensive games would be better off at the 240
