Okay, I have a Haswell 4770K that runs like 1.344v when you run Prime95, is that normal? In idle mode, the vcore jumps around .720v-.844, but as soon as you run Prime95, the vcore jumps all the way to 1.344v and stays there.

I've had other 4770ks before, where they ran 1.264v on stress. I'm thinking there's something wrong with this CPU. Am I wrong?

This is on Asus M6F.

FYI: Loading "Optimized Defaults" from the BIOS doesn't change anything.

Please do not stress test a Haswell on any voltage setting in BIOS other than MANUAL. The IVR gets confused with extreme loads (or even benchmarks like Unigine Heaven) and goes way out of spec. Biggest messup I've seen from Intel on a processor but I don't know their history well. I know the 4770k very well, though, and 1.3v is the general accepted safe ceiling.

The only way I've found around this problem (on the 2 M6H boards I've had) is to use Manual core and Cache voltage settings 24/7 and use Windows power settings to set the cpu minimum speed to 5%. This will allow c-states to function properly while capping the voltage where you want for good.

why set low minimum to 5% and not 1%? love the fancy tech Intel is throwing into their chips but I have known just as many people that have lots of issues getting them to run without BSODS and such which can be very hard to diagnose as people who have zero issues set and forget type thing.

I can kind of understand with prime or burn tests of sorts, but heaven is very odd it is a fancified lopping video game feed :p

Yah, 5% is arbitrary 1% is fine too. :p

Heaven and Valley both do it... I have not tested many other applications to see but this is on adaptive even, it will spike no matter what on the M6H. I presume it will be the same on all z87 boards but I have no proof.
