its coming from my monitor. what does this mean? it starts to make the noise after awhile its been on. i hope its not dying on me. i have the NEC DP930.
 
It could be some interference. I had a old CRT that had a bad coil inside. Sold it to a buddy who knew how to repair them and had the brass ones required to open the monitor and take care of the problem. Been LCD since then. ;)

I have an old NEC does that sometimes also, I pay no heed to it.
