I have been a little out of the PC hardware scene for awhile, as I have been A) on a laptop and B) in Egypt. I was even a hardforum regular three years ago. I'm going back to the states soon, and so I've been trying to catch up on what's going on with the new technologies, especially since I'm building myself a nice little system
. . . I have just one question.
Where are the high-end PCI Express cards? I just kind of assumed all of the fuss about nForce4 was because you could then buy a great $400-$600 PCI Express card. After all, there are plenty of $200 versions around, but few if any at the higher price points (and those that exist are more expensive than average). I know it has a better upgrade path and all that, but what gives?
Also, I assume AGP cards work in PCI Express slots -- am I right here (otherwise the whole thing would be silly)?
