Mainly heavy gaming MW2 BFBC2 maybe a bit of WoW[heavy moding] Photoshop but not so much, plan on haveing this computer for about 4-6 years

Please refer to some of the recent high end builds and you will get pretty much the same suggestions.

Motherboard is slight overkill, dominators are way over priced, you don't need 1000w psu for a single gpu and i7. 800D isn't the greatest for air cooling, its more adapted to watercooling. I haven't heard shit about that SSD but I would honestly stick with two 80gb intel x25m-g2's. Also the f3 1tb is about 20-30$ cheaper and has about the same performance (better in sequential)
 
I agree about the PSU but i plan on using crossfire on the 5870 and getting another one. even then i know it will be a lot but i would like to add a physic card as well. i need the slots on the motherboard for a wireless network card for now then i will go lan. as for the dominators running 7-7-7-20 1600hz is amazing for what i need it for. i built this same setup for a friend about 2 weeks ago and he is benchmarking some nice numbers.as for the SSD i would like to keep them in RAID 0 because there write speed is 250mb and read is 110mb. the 1TB drive is actually very fast compared to some other ones for maybe 20$ cheaper.The air flow on this case just might be one of the best out right now.

Drop the Corsair Dominator RAM and go with a cheaper G.Skill kit that runs at 1.5V-1.6V. Though the G.Skill kit is CL9, outside of benchmarking, you won't see any noticeable performance difference between it and the CL7 Dominator kit.

For heatsink fans, go with the Cooler Master fans that lt_shiro recommended or the ever-reliable Scythe S-FLEX fans. For the case fans, however, go cheap: Yate Loon makes good fans of various sizes that cost at least half as much as those other fans all put together.
 
Thank you for the fans..... but my only concern is overclocking the 930 to a stable 4.2Ghz with that ram
 
I can't give you a good answer, as I haven't tried nor have I researched anything about heavy overclocking using G.Skill DDR3 1600 RAM. That may be something you'll have to research on your own.

I built a very similar system to the OP's idea (see sig) and I can only say +1 for the Intel x25-m, it is an absolutely superb boot drive. I didn't RAID and instead bought the 160GB version as I wanted to be able to run TRIM and at the time, it wasn't available in a RAID setup though it may be by now. A lot of my parts are the same, great system choices although with hindsight I might have gone a little cheaper on the MB, RAM and PSU.

good ram. XMP profile dictates 1t/8/8/8/24 @ 1600 without any voltage changes. i am able to run it full speed with 12gb/6 slots. i only have it downclocked because of how i have my cpu clocked right now.
 
Benchmarks are the only place you'll see a difference between CL7 and CL9 -- you won't notice it enough in real world applications to justify the price premium of those dominators. 4.2Ghz w/ a 21x CPU Multiplier would be a 200 bclk, so 8x200= DDR3-1600. You won't be OC'ing the RAM at all, so the G.Skills will give you the same performance as those overpriced Dominators. Though, you seem to love Corsair, so go with what you like. Even the XMS3 would be the same as those Dominators. OC'ing the RAM higher than a 1:1 ratio wouldn't yield enough performance difference to warrant the price premium for most people, but again, it's up to you.

i have an h50 myself and love it but i would not recommend it for your goals unless your going to be modding it. it would not be able to keep a i7 at 4.2 GHz at a good operating temperature.

now i have seen some mods that add a reservoir to to the cycle and that actually lowers temps on an i7 to 25C idle. but if you do that , you break your warranty
 
I am the friend that recently built a similar system.

I have the H50 CPU cooler and I am also running the 930 at 4.2 and with the stock 120mm fan that came with the cooler I get low 30's C at idle, and 69-70 at 100% load. Usually I don't break 55 C with day to day working and playing. I had a Push pull setup that brought the full load temps down to about 65-67 but it was to loud.

I actually bought the Gskill 2000Mhz memory first, but they seem real sketchy. I couldn't get them to run at 2000MHz or run the timings they were rated for. I am relatively new to overclocking but the Corsair run what it said it would, and its got a cool fan so I went with those.

Absolutely love this case though. To each his own what what case you pick, but so glad I got this one.

I have the "regular" XMS3 CL7 kit myself. I only got it because I needed RAM for my main system right away because the OCZ Gold CL8 kit that I had at the time made Windows crash even at stock CPU and memory speeds when I tried doing anything besides simple Web surfing. But hey, it was slightly more expensive - about $20 more expensive per 6GB triple-channel kit - than the same brand's CL8 or CL9 kits. But that was all the store had when I got those replacements. If I had to do it all over again I would have bought the CL8 kit since it was priced about the same as the same company's CL9 kit.
