High E8400 temps

Have an E8400 with a GA-P35-DS3L and Freezer Pro 7. Running two instances of prime 95 and coretemp is reporting 60-63C. This seems high to me as other people who have a similar set up would say their temps are in the 40s at most. The bios version is F7 which came with the board would getting F8a fix it? I hate flashing the bios, its scary sometimes.
 
Check the F8a release notes to see if it adds more support for 45nm cpu's. If not, you may be in the same boat. These new 45nm chips measure temperature a little bit differently than previous generation 65nm C2Ds do. It may very well be operating well under 60C. Try putting your hand on the HSF and see how hot it is to the touch. That should give you a good indication of if its correct or not and if you mounted the HSF correctly. You could also try remounting with a different amount of thermal grease as you might have put too much.

Its not hot at all, maybe a little warm but thats to be expected.

have sensors that are "sticking". the difference between load temps and idle temps has appeared to be alot smaller than with previous cpus. there are 3 good reasons. also, read this thread and use his prog to measure your temps

Thanks I updated to F8a and used Real Temp. Now im getting 45C under load which is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better. I think Real Temp is more accurate.
