Was browsing around on Headamp and came across an outstanding price for these headphones.

Normally low-to-mid $400 price range.. Great deal on a great set of headphones.

I love these headphones, both for music and gaming. But just a headsup they were in the $250 range for a while last fall on Amazon. But, still not a bad deal if you want 'em.

Get a pair of Fostex TR50P MK3's with the Brainwavz Hybrid Pads for like half the price and they sound better IMO (if we're talking planar headphones of course).

I saw that as well; I think they entered the values in the wrong way. $279 for the HE400s's is still less then the Amazon going price, but given that the 400i's are only $20 more that is the better deal.

I have the HE400s and love them. They work best with a DAC/AMP

^ Likewise. They're terrific. I chose them do to the reports of them being warmer sounding than the 400i.

Have you tried various amps with them?

I found these to just be okay. For that price I'd be wait and look around.
