I know this gonna be some wall of text, but i'm hoping that there's some smart people out there who is willing to help me.

I have had this problem since day 1 with my new computer. In many games it does some hiccups where the picture freeze for like 0.1 sec. This has begun to be more and more annoying. The problem that i have seen this problem is in Team fortress 2, counter-strike 1.6 and world of warcraft.

I found a video which shows the problem in TF2. 21 sec within this movie the soldier dies and u can see the picture and the sound freeze for a bit. This happens happens random but sound and new events seems to trigger it.

Tried changing alot of settings in bios like C1E and such for the cpu. Stock speed and auto settings doesn't help too.

Changed voltage from auto to 2.1V on my RAM and changed to speed to 400mhz to run ration 1:1 when cpu is running 3.6ghz.

upped voltage on NB,SB and FSB.

Have formated my computer a lot with both Windows xp 32bit and win7 64bit.

Disabled devices to check for IRQ conflicts.

Tried with a different sata harddisk

Tried with another soundcard.

Tried opening the case and putted a big fan on it. CPU 33 and MB 23.

Tried a clean install with nothing except gfx driver.

I couldn't detect any spikes in process explorer and the cpu and gpu aren't throttling.

Have tried changing a lot of setting in game but nothing helps.

Ran prime for 10 hours and memtest for 24 hours, no errors.

Tried putting in my old 7600gt and the problem is still there in TF2. Testing it on a local server

Tried Farcry 2 and wanted: weapons of fate last week and no hiccups at all. So please need a very smart guy with some good ideas

Yes it does it in non-networked games got my got my cable unplugged..

Using 100Hz if i have V-sync on else i got 120hz... using a samsung RZ2233 screen.
 
latest Directx version?

Any programs or applications that you might be running in the background that might be causing it?
 
Putted in a new harddrive. Formatted it and installed winxp pro 32bit sp2.

Updated everything in windows update, installed chipset driver, installed nvidia driver and updated directx. After that i downloaded steam and downloaded CS through that.

CS still made those spikes like my computer couldn't hold stable 100fps with vsync on.

So no i dont think i have alot of things running in the background.
 
Disable all your extraneous hardware needed to run a game locally. Remove or disable in the bios, all your networking and sound.

If that works out, enable them one at a time.
 
Try holding your breath / drinking a cup of water upside down, helps when I have hiccups. Or something that makes you jump.

hey i know excatly what you are talking about..

I use to have the same problem with the CPU usage Spike.

It could be a couple of things
There is a virus or something running in the background causing this to over load your CPU usage.

Its def something running in the background it could be something as stupid as your blackberry software or kodak software..

Well it didn't spike to 100% then, because i checked with proces explorer and couldn't see any major spikes. Can post a log of which process that i have running when i come home from work but its pretty much clean.
 
The only thing that i can see is using cpu power while playing CS is "system" and its using around 0-10% cpu power.
 
Try bringing your OC back to stock speed. Sometimes hiccups are caused by things going out of sync with one another. Just because it's stable doesn't mean there isn't a blip here or there, just that it's something the system can correct.

Course, I had a weird one where a 3.06GHz Core 2 would not run stable at native speed, but ran perfectly overclocked. BIOS just didn't like that FSB speed, but ratcheting it up by even multiples of 5 worked perfectly. Systems are picky like that sometimes.
 
Tried stock settings and doesn't work either. so tried 333*9 , 333*9.5 and 400*9 settings.

Left 4 dead works fine too so dont sure what to make of all this.
 
Ok would just update this thread to tell that i have found a solution for my problem. It seems that my problem in CS and all other games isn't the same and when i tried another harddisk than WDC green caviar drive the problems was fixed in both TF2 and COD4. So never buy such a drive for gaming ^^
