I just bought a new computer. amd 64 3000+, and a 6600 gt vid card...should be fun. My question is this.

i only bought it with 512 megs of ddr400 ram. if i want to upgrade to 1gb of ram, do i have to stick with ddr400? aren't there faster kinds of ram out there? do current and new ram have to match speeds?

thaks
mike

they don't have to match. just try to get something as similar as you can for minimal chances of incompatibility.

though, if you get faster ram, the motherboard will run it at the speed of the slower ram.
