I was just looking at all the test boxes and such that sit idle at my company today while I was installing vista on a new box so I figured I would install F@H on as many as I could at the time, so when I left today I had installed it on

2 x 700 Mhz P3
1.4 Ghz P4
2.8 Ghz P4
1.6 Ghz Core 2 duo

Ill see if I can get it on more if I can...

using the name KaosX for team 33

These boxes are on 24/7 so I hope that it helps some...gonna add the home PC's too...figuring why not if theyre just spare cycles.

So hi, im new and I hope this helps a little.

Welcome to the [H]ardest Team in the World!

Nice boxen to start with! Go borg some more! :D

If you need anything, just post in the DC! most of us are friendly! :p

Welcome ! Nice start.... It already looks like you have a knack for folding on nice machines :D

Just added a core duo...this one is a 1.66 on each core.

Question...is the F@H client multi processor aware? Or will I have to install twice and specify that proc that each instance uses?

(I have two 1ghz g4's i need to get this installed on this weekend...some sempron of some sort....a 1.4 ghz p4...and a 2.6 ghz celeron....but i dont want to speak for them until they have the service chugging in the background.)

It is not SMP aware... unless you use the SMP client.

So on a Core Duo, you must install the client twice.

ok...good to know...on this machine then I now have two instances running...unfortunately its not on 24/7...the one at work is running on one proc then and Im out til monday. But at least it will be working off of one core instead of not at all.

I really wish i could dump it onto the dual xeon box...but I guarantee the boss wouldnt approve that one.

with permission, of course...right? :D
just to keep it all legal.

I only installed on boxes that Im allowed to do whatever on...hence why I couldnt drop it onto the dually Xeon or the other multi proc servers.

The amount of net traffic cant be enough to really be noticeable by anyone at the office as they're only using the network for file shares and email basically.

well that depends. when you start adding a number of these together it does start to add up. with some of the larger guys it can be a problem.
