Some odd things happening to my set up lately but I keep trudging along ;)
The latest involves my points monitoring through HFM.NET v0.9.0
I have used this without issue for months from my Win 7 workstation.
All my rigs are on my home network consisting of:
cable modem, GigE switches, GigE router
Suddenly, 1 of the 4p rigs will not register in HFM. The other 2 on the same GigE switch still do. The IP address of the non-registering rig is the same as before.
I can still ping the IP address of the non-registering rig from the workstation where HFM is installed.
I went into the folders on that rig and double checked they are still shared for all.
Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this further?

A new version of HFM has just been posted that contains a bunch of bug fixes, it may be worth trying that first in case it is a bug you've hit. It seems to work fine, I'm an HFM beta tester and have been running the new version in my garden for a couple of weeks.

EDIT: Along with that, have any of the boxes been rebooted recently? Sometimes the sharing goes a bit wrong after a reboot. Make sure you can access the shared directory from the box that is running HFM, sometimes you need to re-enter your credentials for it to work.

Just loaded the latest version. Same result.
All boxex have been re-booted a couple times in the last day due to weather related power glitches.
I can ping the rig from the HFM box but the rig refuses the connection from HFM.

Did you check the permission on "fah" folder on you 4p box? Should be 755 .... I set mine to 777 :D

Sounds like a possible firewall issue, I'd make sure iptables/ufw is disabled and see if that helps.

It's as if the sharing options on the rig are not holding.
Just went back and looked ant the folder was no longer allowing guests.
Set the options once and still no share. Repeated the process and now share is enabled and HFM is working.
Thanks for the help. I'll need to watch this one for a while I suppose.

Glad you found the problem.
