Hey folks... got a question that maybe some of you can answer.
I've been water cooling for going on 6 or 7 years now I think, but I've not run across this issue before.
I have an i7 970 hexacore proc... and an older Koolance CPU-340 block that has served me well, or at least adequately for awhile. However, I notice with my hexacore that cores 1 and 6 run hotter than 2 and 4 which run hotter than 3 and 5. Is this just inherently a result of having 6 cores or is it because my WB isn't cooling the outer cores as much as it should be?
Do I need to look into another CPU block more suitable for a hexacore? Is there a cooling profile that is that much different between a quad core and a hexacore that I need a different block?
Any advice is appreciated!
