my current monitor started being flickery all of a sudden. idk if its just because im noticing it or the monitor is going. on my monitor i get 65hertz in 1280x1024 what is a good flatscreen monitor that gets 1280x1024 that gets 75hertz or higher. i would like to spend less that 200...but if it requires me to go higher i will. thanks.

um, no decent 17" flat panel will cost less than 350. And why would you need to go higher than 60 hz with a flat panel? They don't flicker like a crt.

To eliminate visible flicker, go for at least 85hz. Many, many flat crt (there's a better description for you) monitors support this, and have for years. Start looking around, displays from Sony, NEC, Mitsubishi, and Viewsonic all excell here, you are not pushing the envelope with any of these.
