Does any body have a link/walkthrough for setting up bit-perfect streaming thru winamp (or foobar) with ASIO4ALL? I'm trying to use the onboard sound off my Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD4P mobo. I thought the idea behind ASIO4ALL was allowing me to have bit-perfect streaming regardless of the audio processor?

Right now, whenever I select the asio plug-in thru winamp and hit play, nothing happens. Doesn't even play the song in silence. Just immediately resets. When I switch back over to default, music plays.

Thanks!

The idea behind ASIO4ALL is to provide an ASIO interface from MOST recent sound devices. The ASIO interface is to allow the use of ASIO instruments, plugins, and what have you, the primary goal being latency free (or at a minimum), mixing and processing.

What you need is a VST host, which allows you to visualize the hosts, plugins, inputs and outputs, connect them up in the way that you want.

www.console.jp or "VSTHOST" (freeware) will work.

You drop in the sound card, it provides "outputs" which are the jacks on the sound card. You drop in "wave-in" - which would be the "output" from winamp. In-between you can add processors, mix in all sorts of stuff, EQ's, crossovers, etc.
