new gaming rig, do i need a bigger psu and what size?

and i was planning on adding a more powerful cpu cooling unit and 2 or 3 additional case fans for circulation

I would get a new one. What is your budget and what features do you want with the PSU?

budget is anywhere to around 200$ or so. As for features it needs to fit the ATX case, i will need plenty of 4 pin connectors for fans and other peripherals. Im not sure about the wattage which is kind of why im here. . . i would prefer something with decent cooling since my last one just vents heat into my rig

Hmmm....well your worst case draw is going to be fairly high....say in the neighborhood of 25+ Amps on the 12v. I would look at something like a Seasonic S12 500......as for cooling the PSU's should cool themselves and shouldn't really be used for sytem cooling. The Seasonic will be the quietest and probably be coolest as it has an efficency of over 80%.
