so i jus rescently built my new system watercooled a64 3500 venice and gforce 6800
danger den blocks on both, reserviour 5 1/4 bay, and a 120x2 radiator now the water cooling is fine my cpu and video card run around 30c first day i hooked it up but i cannot game

my mobo is an8 ultra so i go to load bf2 up settings automaticly go to high and a better resolution but its sooo laggy well i ended up turning it down to 800x600 and everything on low and it still lags like crazy

i have a couple 90mm fans in the front 80mm on the chipset and a 92mm blowing on the little chipset radiator looking thing
i have the latest video drivers for my video card also, plz help me out guys i cant sleep at night knowing somethin is wrong with one of my machines
 
So is anything overheating now? Do you have the latest mobo chipset drivers? Is your psu pumping enough volts to everything? Is your ram stable? Are you overclocking? Not trying to be a smart ass, but we need more info.

If your overclocking try running at stock settings first.

Try running prime95 to test the stability of your system outside of a game. Sounds like driver issues to me though. I would say try an older set of videocard drivers. Also did you start with a fresh install of windows with all the updates?

Is your bios up to date?

it does seem like its overheating but all my components arent hot everything stays in the 30c range and only jumps to about 38c under full load

all my drivers are up to date my bios version is a couple months old but the newest release only fixed things with sli which i dont have
im not overclocking im running at the stock settings for my 3500
last night i did do a slight overclock just to see if it would fix my problem but nothing
the eq monitor that came with my mobo says my psu is supplying enough voltage to all the components and theres no drops

this really has me stumped and kinda mad i just spent around 1200 on the new system :(
 
I would do a whole set of benchmarks.
CPU, Vid card, Memory, Hard drive, etc, etc.
Then see if any sub-system is running slower than it should.

Also a virus, spy ware, mal-ware scan would not go amiss.

I agree with 2uantuM and Tigerbitten, I would update your bios anyways, then start using some benchmarks. You may just have a bad videocard or cpu or even memory.

If your temps are holding steady, I would run memtest for 24 hours to see if you get any errors.

If that passes, then I would run prime95 on a torture test for 12 hours or so and watch your temps and see if you get any errors. Another good benchmark for cpu and memory is SuperPi. Just goorivers with your videocard. Maybe something doesnt like the lastest ones. google the names to find the tests, they are all free to download and use. If nothing comes up there, then I would try different drivers.

Your not using any beta drivers are you? Ive had problems with beta drivers before. I try to stick to the Nvidia WHQL certified drivers.
 
Have you tried any other game besides BF2?

Do you have the patches for BF2? That game is kinda buggy still.
 
well i think i figured it out i ran prime95 torture test for 6 hours everything was good

i have an air conditioning vent beside my computer so i took a big box and some clothes dryer duckwork and made a tube where i could route cold air out of a 3 inch tube into my machine to test each part and when i hold the cold air over my video card it worked good like it should but my video card is water cooled??

so i made some homeade ramsinks out of an old heatsink and some AS thermal paste to hold them on and mounted a 92mm fan underneath blowing my card

would it have had any effect on my system that the video card memory didnt have any heatsinks on the little modules??
 
I would make sure of two things with the vid card and expansion slots.

-Make sure that the card is seated correctly and tightly.
-Second make sure that you have your watercooling blocks secure, on all items that have blocks on them as they might not have a tight enough contact area.
-Allso reseat everything in the case ie: plugs,cables everything.
