Im building a computer. the current setup is the Msi K8n Neo 2 Platnum, the AMD 3500+, 2 Maxtor 300 GB (!6 mb Cache) S-ATA, 2 memorex dvd drives, 1 generic floppy, 6800 Gt oc, and a stick of 512 (233 Mhz) i temporarily jacked out of this comp i tried to get it to start and all it does is beep. i was under the impression that it only should do this if it is missing somthing like the processor or ram. Is it the sata drives not being installed or the ram or maybe somthing ive never heard of??? the screen just stays black there is no post screen and im kinda freaked out. I ordered the mobo and processor from monarch computer.com and before they sent it to me they tested it so those two should be ok.... ummm cant think of any other details that mite indicate or eliminate a problem. thx for reading this far and for any help in advance.

I would bet you money that you dont have your video card completly seated into the slot. Or if re-seating the video card does not work try re-seating the ram. This should fix your problem. If this does not work write down the beep sequence, it is going to be a series of short and long beeps. Then you need to go to your mobo's website and look up the post code table for your board. Once you have the table look up the beep sequence you have written down and it should give you a general idea what could be the problem.

Let me know what happens.

You are awesom and i love u man ;). The 6800 Gt Oc is a beast of a card and it is like 8 or 9 inches long i had it seated rite but i must have bumped it or somthing cause i applied a bunch of pressure to it and it went down a little more i turned the machine on and i got the post screen. thanks!!!(dont know why i didnt think to try that myself )
